Meet The Team

Prudence

In Loving Memory | Hospital Supervisor Emeritus

Prudence came into our lives in 2018 after being found as a stray attempting to cross Broadway near Prudence Road. Rescued by a caring client and welcomed into the Cat Hospital of Tucson family, she quickly made herself at home—and made it very clear who was in charge.

As our beloved hospital supervisor, Prudence took her responsibilities seriously. She could often be found napping in reception, inspecting staff activities, demanding treats from her “subordinates,” or reminding everyone when it was time for breakfast and dinner. She greeted visitors on her own terms, patrolled the hallways with confidence, and never missed an opportunity to seek out treats, affection, or a pair of interesting feet in flip-flops.

For years, Prudence brought comfort, laughter, and companionship to our team, clients, and feline patients. She was more than a hospital cat—she was a cherished member of our family and a daily reminder of the compassion and connection that define our work.

In 2025, after a sudden decline in her health, we made the difficult but loving decision to help Prudence pass peacefully. Her loss has been deeply felt by everyone who knew and loved her, but her spirit remains an enduring part of our hospital.

To honor her memory, we established the Prudence Healing Paws Fund, which helps provide care for stray and surrendered cats and supports families facing financial hardship while seeking veterinary care for their beloved companions. Through this fund, Prudence’s legacy of compassion will continue to touch lives for years to come.

Though her favorite sunny spots may now be empty, Prudence will always be remembered as the true boss of the Cat Hospital of Tucson—and forever a beloved part of our family.
